Privacy Policy

Sebtin World is an unofficial, fan-run community app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Sebtin World mobile application (the "App"), why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it in plain language. Questions are always welcome at hello@sebtin.world.

1. Information you give us

Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, our authentication provider (Clerk) receives your name and email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email). We use this only to create and secure your account.

Profile and preferences. Your username, optional avatar photo, bias tag, "Carat since" date, and the onboarding preferences you choose (interests, era, notification settings). These personalize the App and are chosen by you.

Your content. Posts, comments, reactions, and any photos or videos you upload. Text is stored in our database (Neon); media files are stored in our media storage (Cloudflare R2). Content you post to the feed or forums is visible to other members.

2. Information created by using the App

Membership status. Your subscription is purchased through Apple. We never see or store your payment details — Apple handles all billing. We store only what we need to know that your membership is active: an Apple transaction identifier and your subscription's expiry date.

Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token (via Expo's push service) so we can deliver the alerts you opted into. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Moderation records. Reports you submit, blocks you create, and moderation actions taken on content. Removed content is soft-deleted — hidden from the App but retained for accountability and safety review.

3. What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. The App contains no analytics SDKs in its current version.

4. Service providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the App, each processing data only on our behalf: Clerk (sign-in and account security), Neon (database), Cloudflare R2 (media storage), Vercel (API hosting), Expo (push notification delivery), and Apple (payments and app distribution). Each provider has its own security and privacy commitments.

5. How long we keep things

Your account data and content are kept while your account is active. When content is removed by moderation it is hidden immediately and retained only as a moderation record. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion, and we may retain records where the law requires it.

6. Deleting your account

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App, or by emailing privacy@sebtin.world from the address on your account. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription — manage that in your device's subscription settings.

7. Children

Sebtin World is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Sign-in is handled by Clerk with industry-standard session security; API requests are authenticated and encrypted in transit (HTTPS); media uploads use short-lived signed URLs. No system is perfectly secure, but we design for least access and fail-closed behavior.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the App before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
